Hechyeomoyeo 6 – a Group Exhibition of 250 Artists in Seoul

To spice things up a bit, I wanted to share something about the idependent art scene in #Seoul and one of the most amazing initiatives I've heard of recently.

Valeriia Ten, a local artist, took me to see the Hechyeomoyeo 6 – the latest in a group exhibition series of diverse artists — Korean, non-Korean, local and overseas. The space presents the works of more than 250 individual artists at KOTE in Seoul's Insadong.

Neil’s fabulous leg – he loves TVs and snails

My impromptu artwork now joined others on the wall of the gallery - can you tell I’m proud?

This eclectic space full of extremely diverse artwork feels like a charging station for the human soul. I noticed some familiar works, lots of new works – from realism to pop art, through comic art, to traditional Korean Minwha paintings. Mature art next to those who are just at the beginning of their artistic explorations, there are no rules, no order to the artwork displayed and it feels extremely refreshing.

I noticed a familiar “face” on the wall – Yangbantal

The closing party is tomorrow but if you happen to be in Seoul – I cannot recommend this enough for those looking for an authentic art experience. P.S. The alley where the gallery is located is the cherry on top – it feels like a living, breathing organism! And it even recently hosted a fashion show – a true center of creativity.

P.P.S. Stay tuned because yours truly will most definitely take part in the next edition of Hechyeomoyeo – from the beginning!
